We received notification that we were Gold winners of the Substance Awareness Award.
Mrs Fraser coordinates specific work that also complements our Health and Wellbeing program throughout our curriculum delivered by all staff in school.

P3 classes doing Healthy Bodies with Mrs Fraser yesterday.

How are you getting on with the Maths Home Fun Challenge?
At our school assembly we shared what we have done so far and what we are going to do for our fundraiser. Milo Francis P6RJ wants to beat Ronaldo's 50 meter sprint time. https://youtu.be/V9vGHG4A4eo?si=yujv2CxIfAONH5H1
Good Luck Milo!
P6RJ were also able to explain their Maths strategies rather well when back in class.
Well done Mollie MacInnes
And Owen MacIvor šÆ
Going round the school it is easy to capture our Maths in context situations.
P1s were woodworking and had to judge sizes and place nails in correct places. P6ED were doing electronics and need to understand pathways and those doing bike ability need to judge distances for stopping and being safe on the road. Miss Innes had a group of P3s assess quantities to then spread icing sugar for a cake for each member of their class. Yes, we do have lots of Maths in action taking place in our school!

P7/S1 Transition
Culloden Academy drama department are visiting school this week coming. There's an information evening at Culloden Academy on 22nd May and all should now be on the Google Classroom.
Mr Grandison was invited to an Education Scotland event, so Mr Lyon decided to undertake a mock Secondary School Timetable. Classes were separated into 50 minute periods in Cooking, English, Science, Maths and ICT. Here's some pictures of their day.

Kacey used Google Calendar to plan appointments pretending to be a hairdresser in ICT.

Data was gathered from car registration numbers and analyzed, in Maths.

In Science a daffodil was dissected to look at its different parts and the class designed a new plant with the important parts highlighted.

Well done Simmy
We attempted to do some microwave sponge making baking in a mug. It was a big test for our staffroom microwaves! Thank you to the crew that tidied afterwards!
And finally, we created a poetic rap in English all about free trade after interpreting some poems. A special production on the blog of this will be performed by Calum Luke next week. We look forward to this!
Here's our link again for your views on our Maths in school. A few more returns would be great.

Nursery/P1 transition
Our P6s are buddying up with our Nursery P1 entries for next session.

Transition is important and our P6s are excited to be teamed up with a new P1. They have already had a few opportunities to get to know each other.
And here's our award winners from our classes this week, pictured under our tree in our grass area in full blossom
