Well today was Rainbow day, where we all raised money for a great cause - https://www.theleannefund.co.uk/.

Oranisers- Lily, Chloe and Paige really showed their talent by preparing a set of events, treats and asking people to dress in Rainbow colours for the day. We did have some strange ones: look at this one!

A magnificent effort saw a collection of around £300 for cystic fibrosis ✨🌟🌈- Yes there really is a pot of gold inside Smithton Primary School.
During our INSET, 2 of our P7s came to give a presentation to staff on how they met the following learning onjective.

Kayla Hunter and Lily McKellar showed their confidence and ability to share their work on The Life of Mary Queen of Scots and Robert Burns respectively.

We also evaluated our Maths development this year. During the week this was spotted during Tommy and Lyla-Grace's exploratory play.

Primary 3s were using cards to calculate as many permutations of numbers using 3 or 4 cards. Even Miss Innes was bamboozled with how good her group of learners were.

And who says we down tools on a Friday afternoon? Well Ms Robertson and Primary 7IG were calculating perimeter outside of their body shapes.

And when the wool used to calculate the perimeter was laid out straight...
. In P1, they were doing Rainbow experiments at the same time...

And also just in from before hometine today, P3JM made up this poem collectively :-
🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈
Rainbows are beautiful
Arcs of colour
In the sky
Never make you sad
Be as cool as a rainbow
Oh what a fantastic rainbow day
Wow! 🌈
Oh and a very special treat for P7s...

Just before we enjoy our Monday break from school, here's an appeal for anyone of any Primary age to begin or try out Aikido martial art. We have a very keen instructor looking for new recruits. Please phone our office to join as we don't want to lose this opportunity. Just speak to Kai in P4 - he loves it! See you all on Tuesday.
